Photographers may enter regardless of location. 


Each photographer may submit up to four works.

All entries are submitted online at

 All work must have been completed in the last two years. 

No photographs previously shown at the museum will be accepted. 

 Submit jpg, tif or png images not to exceed 4 mb. 

 Upload 1 image for each photo.  Use “Additional Notes” to enter descriptive information about medium (C-Print, silver print, ink jet print, paper type, etc…)

Museum members:  $12.50 per entry – call museum for the “promo code”

Non-members:  $15.00 per entry.  To join the museum, visit and choose “JOIN & SUPPORT”

All fees are paid online via Smarter Entry.

 Guidelines for accepted works

All photographs must be ready to hang. 

D-rings or eye-screws must be installed on both sides of the picture frame.

D-ring or eye-screw OPENING should be at least ½”. 

No wire is needed; wire that interferes with the museum’s hanging system will be removed. 

No saw-tooth hangers.

Photographs must not exceed 72 inches in any direction, including frame.  

 Exhibition design is at the discretion of museum staff.

 Delivery and return

Any works not picked up within 30 (thirty) days following the close of the exhibition will become the property of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and may be disposed of in a manner at its sole discretion.

 Shipping:  Artists are responsible for all shipping/delivery costs before and at the conclusion of the exhibition. Shipped work must include a reusable container and pre-paid, return shipping via UPS or FedEx.

 Privacy:  Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will not sell, rent or exchange your contact information.

 Liability:  The museum is not responsible for loss or damage, although all possible care will be taken with work

submitted.  Artists should insure their own work.

 Publicity:  Unless other wise stated in writing, the exhibitor’s permission to use images for publicity purposes is


 Art sales:  The museum retains a 40% commission on all art sales. Artist retains copyright.

Juror- Michael Mendez

A graduate of The Corcoran School of Art (BFA) and the University of Colorado (MFA), Michael Mendez has been an adjunct instructor at Shepherd University in West Virginia since 1997.  He teaches classes in Photography, Art History, and Visual Thinking.  He was a member of the Blue Elephant Art Center in Frederick Maryland from 1997 through 2007.  His work can be seen regularly in solo and group shows nationally.  His 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall; A Child’s Introduction to Binge Drinking (for Andy) was included in Johns Hopkins University Press’s “Addiction and Art” book.   He has won the Governor’s Award and Award of Excellence at the Biennial West Virginia Juried Exhibition.
