Corrections for the first Curator’s Den: It was erroneously stated that Helen Keller was 19 years old when she lost her sight and hearing. In fact, she lost these senses at the age of 19 months. In addition, it was mistakenly stated that John Ferguson worked as the chief architect of the Museum’s 1931 building. Instead, Ferguson served as the primary engineer for this project. Hyde & Shepherd of New York served as the chief architectural firm for the original building.
