Illuminated Manuscript Foil Letters
November 4, 2017
1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Instructor: Kellie Mele
To accompany the Painted Pages: Illuminated Manuscripts 13th – 18th Centuries exhibition at the museum, students will view and be inspired by the beauty of hand created illustrations and writing found in books that seem to be “lit up” in gold. Students will have the opportunity to see these books for themselves before creating their own “Illuminated Manuscripts” using foil embossing techniques.
For Grades 3-8.
Kellie Mele is the Museum Literacy Coordinator for Washington County Public Schools.
Painted Pages: Illuminated Manuscripts, 13th-18th Centuries is organized by the Reading Public Museum, Reading, Pennsylvania.
