Yamaha Piano Artist, Alexander Wu has established himself as an eclectic performer in both the classical and jazz worlds. The Washington Post praised, “Wu’s exuberant etudes on Gershwin songs and the dreamy Ellington’s Reflections in D – sounded assured and settled… he is uncommonly attractive and entertaining.” As a soloist, and his chamber groups, he has given numerous concerts in the US and abroad with performances at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Merkin Concert Hall, Bargemusic, Steinway Series at the Smithsonian, Mannes College, The New School, Bard College, Hofstra & City University of NY. His solo CDs, ‘Bach to the Future’ & ‘Rhythm Road across the Americas’ have received rave reviews for its adventurous music programming.
This concert is sponsored each year by Cinda and Spence Perry in memory of their mothers Mary Gaylor Brandenburg and Inez Hottsford Perry. The Perry’s noted “we felt that the memory of these two strong, talented and generous women could best be perpetuated by using a portion of their resources to continue their tradition of sharing music with others for years to come. It is our way of saying thank you to the both of them for the opportunity to hear, to learn and to love music from our earliest years.”
