Cumberland Valley Artist Exhibition

On view November 8, 2025 – April 26, 2026

This year’s exhibition was planned to honor the semiquincentennial — America’s 250th birthday. We asked artists to submit work that responded to these four themes:

UNFINISHED REVOLUTIONS
POWER OF PLACE
TELL EVERYONE’S STORY
AMERICAN EXPERIMENT

Eighty-five artists submitted one hundred and ninety-eight (198) works to The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. Sixty-two works were accepted. It is clear from the works we received that many artists are wrestling with complex stories of America that are full of both advancements and setbacks. These artists invite us to ponder American identity and the many paradoxical issues we face as a nation today. Amid the anxiety and uncertainty of today, these art works also assure us that hope springs eternal

Organized by the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts with support from Conservit Inc., Hugh and Marty Talton, the Delaplaine Foundation, and Katharine and Kent Oliver.
