Washington County Museum of Fine Arts Welcomes Yaw Dankwa as Manager of Safety and Security

The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Yaw Dankwa as the Museum’s new Manager of Safety and Security. Bringing more than 26 years of experience in security and protective services, Dankwa joins the Museum with a strong background in safeguarding public spaces, cultural institutions, and organizational operations across state, federal, corporate, commercial, and nonprofit sectors.

Throughout his career, Dankwa has advanced through progressively responsible leadership roles, rising from Security Supervisor to Security Manager while overseeing personnel supervision, operational planning, risk mitigation strategies, and comprehensive safety programs. His professional experience reflects a deep commitment to creating secure, welcoming environments that support both public engagement and institutional stewardship.

Dankwa brings extensive museum-specific expertise to his new role. As Head of Security Operations in a museum setting, he managed daily security functions including protection of cultural and historical assets, access control systems, emergency preparedness planning, and coordination with public safety and emergency response agencies. His experience ensures that best practices in collections protection and visitor safety remain central to the Museum’s operations.

In addition to his institutional work, Dankwa is Co-Founder of Cassamajor Protective & Investigation LLC, where he served for six years as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this executive leadership role, he directed company-wide operations, guided organizational strategy, oversaw staffing and professional development initiatives, ensured regulatory and contractual compliance, and implemented operational standards and quality assurance protocols. He also managed client partnerships and operational deployments, contributing to sustained organizational growth and long-term success.

Across more than two decades in the field, Dankwa has specialized in executive-level operations management, security program development, training, and emergency planning. His leadership experience bridges public-sector protective services and private-sector executive management, delivering strategic, disciplined, and results-driven approaches to safety and security.

In his role as Manager of Safety and Security, Dankwa will oversee the Museum’s security operations, emergency preparedness initiatives, and safety protocols, helping ensure a secure environment for visitors, staff, volunteers, and the Museum’s permanent collection.
