The Endless Table
Table No. 7 by Sarah C. Wolfe
The Endless are a family of beings who embody the cosmic forces. Created by Neil Gaiman for the series The Sandman (1989-1996) the siblings are: Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delerium.
The Endless are merely patterns. The Endless are ideas. The Endless are wave functions. The Endless are repeating motifs. The Endless are echoes of darkness, and nothing more…And even our existences are brief and bounded. None of us will last longer than this version of the Universe.
—Destruction, The Sandman (Vol.2) #48
Each of the Endless has a realm in which they are sovereign. Within their realm, all members of the Endless have a gallery containing symbols, or sigills, of the other Endless. This table envisions a family dinner for the Endless with their “parents” the sun and time. Each of the seven place settings represents the individual sigils of the siblings.
Suggested dress for special reception: Dress up as a monk, a goth, a starry night, as your favorite dream, or let your artistic mind go wild to support this table.
