Weaving Workshop

Overshot — More than Stars and Roses

Thursday, April 19, 2018

9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Instructor — Barbara Diefenderfer

$25 per person at registration, plus $15 per person to Barbara for workbook and class fee at the beginning of the workshop

Students will learn to weave and understand traditional overshot patterns as they were known to our grandmothers and explore ways to transform these patterns into 21st century beauties.  Convert star fashion treadlings into beautiful circular rose fashion designs.  Discover weaving in the Italian fashion as well as several flame point and boundweave variations.

Floor or table looms are equally acceptable for this class, which will only use 4 shafts.  Natural colored 10/2 or 8/2 cotton will be used for the warp.  Directions for warping and threading will be supplied upon registration.  Students will come to class with looms dressed and ready to begin weaving the learning sampler.  Tables will be available as needed.
