Washington County Museum of Fine Arts Welcomes New Development & Visitor Services Coordinator, Macey Wommer

Hagerstown, MD — November 6, 2025 — The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce that Macey Wommer has joined the museum’s administrative team as its new Development and Visitor Services Coordinator, beginning her role on November 1, 2025. Wommer steps into a key position that supports both the museum’s fundraising operations and its longstanding commitment to exceptional visitor service.

In her new role, Wommer provides essential administrative support to the museum’s development department, assists in cultivating relationships with members and donors, manages accurate and timely membership processing, and contributes to the overall visitor experience by ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and valued. She will work closely with the Director of Development to support donor stewardship, coordinate membership communications, assist with event registration, and help carry out the museum’s major fundraising initiatives, including the annual fund and seasonal appeals.

Wommer brings to WCMFA a well-rounded background in customer service, museum engagement, research, and membership operations. Her experience working directly with the public, combined with her enthusiasm for the arts and community-oriented institutions, makes her a strong addition to the museum’s team. She expressed her excitement about joining the organization:

“I am excited to work in a museum with such friendly staff and volunteers. Even in the past visiting as a guest, the kindness and enthusiasm of the team was evident. With my work in customer service, museums, research, and membership experience, I hope to provide an equally incredible experience to the museum’s visitors as my coworkers have.”

The Development and Visitor Services Coordinator plays a vital role in shaping the visitor’s first impression of the museum—whether through in-person interactions, telephone inquiries, or membership outreach. Wommer will serve as one of the museum’s key ambassadors, helping to strengthen visitor relationships, support public programs, and expand awareness of the museum’s exhibitions and events.

“Macey’s passion for museums, attention to detail, and commitment to creating positive interactions will contribute greatly to our work,” said Executive Director, Sarah J. Hall. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the museum and look forward to the energy and perspective she brings.”

Wommer’s appointment supports the museum’s ongoing efforts to enhance its development activities while providing the highest quality service to its visitors. As WCMFA continues to grow in reach and impact, her work will help strengthen the museum’s relationships with members, donors, and the broader community—and help ensure that every visitor, whether long-time supporter or first-time guest, feels welcomed and engaged.
